The F6F Hellcat is shown flying over a Pacific Island.

The F6F was an American fighter aircraft during WWII. The F6F made its debut in September 1943, and was known for its role as a rugged carrier fighter, which helped secure air superiority over the Pacific theater. A total of 12,275 were built in just over two years.
